Morgan Freeman Converted His 124 Acre Ranch Into A Bee Sanctuary To Help Save The Bees

Morgan Freeman has demonstrated his activism by turning his hand to help the bees.

There has been much speculation over the dwindling bee numbers in recent years as more people are trying to help increase the bee population. It’s well known that bees are vitally important to the food chain and the world’s main pollinator – if they died off we would be at risk of losing most of our food sources, possibly leading to human extinction.

It was this fear that has sparked concern over the number of bees in the world going down year after year.

Many activists have fought to save the bee population and Morgan Freeman has joined forces with them.

Using his own land he has turned part of his estate into a bee sanctuary in an effort to boost bee numbers.

In an interview with The Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon he said:

There’s a concerted effort to bring bees back onto the planet. We do not realize that they are the foundation, I think, of the growth of the planet, the vegetation. I have so many flowering things, and I have a gardener too. Because she takes care of the bees too, all she does is figure out, ‘OK, what would they like to have?’, so we’ve got acres and acres of clover, we’re planting stuff like lavender, I’ve got like, maybe 140 magnolia trees, big blossoms,

Using his influential status in this way to help the bees will surely do wonders for the cause.
